4mm Tabbed Settings
I recently posted on MetalClay Now & my Instagram account a technique using your tabbed settings for faceted non firable gems in metal clay. There was a fair amount of discussion about how your settings are too large for the sized gems that corresponds to its size. I too felt this was until I cut a seat for faceted gems.
I believe that if you push the tabs down further that it will work for both cabs & faceted gems. I cut my seat in the greenware state and adjust if needed postfire.
I feel that this is an amazing opportunity for the metal clay artist to include precious gems in their designs without soldering or using traditional tube sets (that are usually only available in sterling silver).
I’m hoping that you see an increase in sales. I’d love to send a picture but you don’t have an option here. -
great!

Open Back Bexel Setting
What do you do when you want to use stones that just won’t survive the firing in silver clay? These little bezels do the job nicely. Now blues and apple greens with have a place in my pieces.
